This is my fourth year as Music Director for Finding Faith, our Catholic Campus Ministry band.  I grew up in Brussels, a small farming community in Door County.  I graduated from UW-Green Bay in December 2004 with a major in Business and a minor in Accounting.  During the day, I work for my family’s feed mill business in Brussels, and at night you’ll find me jammin’ at the EC.

In the heat of the summer I’ll be biking, camping, going to the beach, or heading to a Brewer’s game, and in winter I’ll be snowboarding, working in the shop, or hibernating.  Aside from playing guitars, I also build them—my fourth hand-made electric guitar will be finished soon.

I am a Sophomore this year and have fallen in love with UW-Green Bay and its Catholic Campus Ministry program.  I work as Sacristan, getting things ready every week for Mass and helping out where I’m needed.  I do not have a major chosen yet, but everyone says I have time.

In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors.  I am a YMCA camp counselor in summer, so I love camping, singing songs, and sitting around a fire.  At school I am involved with the Newman Club, Intervarsity, and I never miss a Soup for the Soul at the Ecumenical Center!  I also like reading, drinking coffee, spending time with friends and family, and playing Nintendo Wii.

I am a Senior at UW-Green Bay, and this is my third year as Outreach Coordinator for Catholic Campus Ministry.  Major in Public Relations and wanting to grow deeper in my faith, CCM has been a good fit.  I send out the press releases, announcements, and promotional material.  I also come up with designs for posters and bulletin boards

I’m from Door County, and love spending endless summers on Lake Michigan swimming, jet skiing, fishing, and boating with my friends.  I like all types of music, but I especially dig Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and Mike Mangione.  I’m looking forward to this year!

This is my seventh year as Chaplain at UW-Green Bay.  While I am only on campus a few hours a week, I love being with students here, especially on Sunday nights.  I grew up in Appleton and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Green Bay in 1991.  I serve as Vocations Director for the Diocese, and I help young adults figure out God’s calling in their lives—especially as it relates to priesthood or religious life.  I live in De Pere at the Xavier House for Catholic Men’s Discernment, a place for Catholic men to live in community.

I am here on Sunday nights for Reconciliation, Mass and fellowship, and sometimes during the week.  When I am not on campus, please contact me at (920)450-8259 if you’d like to talk.

Deacon Tom Mahoney

tom.mahoney@wfrv.com

Deacon Tom Mahoney was ordained a deacon on May 16, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay by Bishop David Ricken.  His assignments include pastoral and liturgical ministry at both St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and Saints Peter & Paul Church in Green Bay.

Deacon Tom is familiar with UW-Green Bay.  He was an adjunct professor in Environmental Science from 1991 to 2001, teaching Ocean of Air, an Introduction to Meteorology.  He and his family also attended Sunday Evening Mass here at the EC when he was teaching.  Tom and his wife Sue have six children, and three of the six attended UW-Green Bay.  His daughter Molly was even on the swim team as a diver.  His youngest will graduate from the United States Naval Academy in May 2010.

Deacon Tom is probably best known for being Chief Meteorologist the last 28 years at WFRV, Channel 5 in Green Bay, as well as 105.7 WAPL on the air wave.  It’s great to have a local celebrity on our team!

I'm a junior here at UW-Green Bay, and I've been blessed to be involved in Catholic Campus Ministry all three of those years. I lead a small faith-sharing group with Natalie C. this year. A small group is a chance meet with a few other UWGB students to think and learn about God, who He is, and how He’s at work in your life. I serve as President for the Newman Catholic Student Community, a student organization branch of CCM.

In addition to CCM, I am very involved in the UWGB Student Ambassador program and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. My major is Communication, and I am originally from Fond du Lac. I really like chocolate chip cookies and pineapple, and I have a weird ability to remember quotes from movies and videos. My favorite verse is Romans 8:38-39 (check it out if you have the chance).
